FlexiPot Strip sensors have a rectangular shape, a 3-pin male connector, and are designed for use with your own electronics. These sensors are a low powered position sensor with a linear output. The sensors have a total length of 91.3 mm (3.59 in.) and a total width of 11.6 mm (0.46 in.).

3-Pin FlexiPot™:

The 3-pin FlexiPot functions similarly to a voltage divider. Power and ground are applied to the outside pins, and the voltage output is measured from the center pin.  Also, it is important to note that the voltage output is zero when unloaded which provides the dual functionality of both linear position response and switch-like touch response. If two separate locations are loaded on the 3-pin FlexiPot, the voltage output is approximately equal to the output that is seen when the point directly between those two locations is loaded. This is useful in applications where the center point of the load applicator(s) is the position of interest:

2-Pin FlexiPot™:

The 2-pin FlexiPot functions similarly to a variable resistor. The resistance output will default to the maximum value, referred to as the native resistance, when unloaded and will decrease proportionally to distance. One simple way to obtain an analog voltage output from the 2-pin FlexiPot is to connect it to a power source in a voltage divider configuration by pairing it with a fixed resistor.

If two separate locations are loaded on the 2-pin FlexiPot, the resistance output is equal to the output that is seen when only one of the locations is loaded (the location that is farther from the pins). This is useful in applications where the same edge of the load applicator is always the position of interest:

The iMAX-B6AC is a highly versatile, rapid battery charger, discharger, and balancer. It works with NiMH, NiCd, Pb, LiPo, Li-ion, and LiFe batteries, and features an internal independent lithium battery balancer that allows for balance charging and discharging of 2–6 cells. The HRXL-MaxSonar-WRM ignores smaller targets and only reports the range to target with the largest acoustic return. This is our most advanced weather resistant sensor designed for target detection and ranging outdoors or in tank or bin applications.

The HRXL-MaxSonar-WRM sensors are equipped with filtering firmware which allows the sensor to ignore smaller targets and noise, and still report the target that gives the largest acoustic return. (The sensor will also reject periodic noise, even noise that has a higher amplitude than the acoustic return from the target.) This gives users the flexibility to consistently range larger targets in the presence of clutter and noise. If the largest target is removed from the field of view, the HRXL-MaxSonar-WRM will switch to the target that gives the next largest detectable return.

The Most-Likely filter is designed to report the distance to the largest acoustic return while ignoring smaller targets. When targets are of similar amplitude reflections, preference is given to the closest target.
