Boe-Bot Robot

The Boe-Bot® robot is built on a high-quality brushed aluminum chassis that provides a sturdy platform for the servo motors and printed circuit board. Mounting holes and slots may be used to add custom robotic equipment. The rear wheel is a drilled polyethylene ball held in place with a cotter pin. Wheels are machined to fit precisely on the servo spline and held in place with a small screw.

The Boe-Bot robot's flexibility stems from the fact that it’s a rolling Board of Education® carrier board. All I/O projects are built on the breadboard. The Board of Education programming board (and BS2-IC) may be removed to be used as your platform for other projects in the Stamps in Class™ series. The robot may be programmed to follow a line, follow light, or roam autonomously while avoiding objects by completing the activities in the Robotics with the Boe-Bot text.

* Audience: Educational, Robot Enthusiasts. Suitable for ages 14 and up, it is used in hobbyist's homes as well as in middle and high schools, vocational schools, colleges and universities in pre-enineering and robotics courses.
* Power Supply: 4 AA’s for BASIC Stamp® microcontroller and motor control (not included
* Assembly Tools: A small Philips/flathead screwdriver is included, and 1/4” wrench and angle cutters are not included but would be useful.
* Time Required to Build and Program: 2 to 3 hours - Boe-Bot robot uses the pre-built Board of Education carrier board to save time.
* I/O Components: LEDs, speaker, pushbutton, photoresistors, resistors and capacitors, infrared LEDs and receivers, whisker contact switches.
* Use of BASIC Stamp I/O pins: Sensor circuits are built on the breadboard and maybe moved around. Flexible use of I/O pins.
* Object Detection: Infrared object detection, object detection with whiskers
* Expandability: The AppMod Header is designed for the LCD Terminal and eB500 Embedded Blue Transceiver. Many other components from our Robot Accessories Shop and our Sensors Shop are designed for or work well with the Boe-Bot robot.
* Package Contents: Board of Education and programming cable, BASIC Stamp® 2 module, Boe-Bot Parts Kit (chassis, wheels, servos, whiskers, etc.), software, and Robotics with the Boe-Bot Stamps in Class text with projects. *4AA batteries are required but not included.
